The 3 images above are the arcade space for my live project. These have been taken to show an image of before any work has been completed and to show an idea of what I am working with.
Researching themes was top of my list, Spider Diagrams were used and brainstorms were completed to be able to come up with a theme.
The themes we came up with and explored more into were...
Cinematic
Tweed Run
Contemporary culture
British heritage
Comic book trend
Rendering Reality
Vintage
Hollywood
Nautical
All these themes had a impact on the project and was thought in different ways in which could be used to benefit the visual merchandising of the archade space. The theme Nautical was decided on due to having lots of history and fitting in with contemporary culture feel that we are concentrating on.
The V&A celebrated the opening of the newly renovated Fashion Galleries with an exhibition of beautiful ballgowns, red carpet evening dresses and catwalk showstoppers. Displayed over two floors, 'Ballgowns: British Glamour Since 1950' featured more than sixty designs for social events such as private parties, royal balls, state occasions and opening nights.
Hollywood Costume explored the central role costume design plays in cinema storytelling. Bringing together over 100 of the most iconic movie costumes from across a century of film-making, it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see the clothes worn by unforgettable and beloved characters such as Dorothy Gale, Indiana Jones, Scarlett O'Hara, Jack Sparrow, Holly Golightly and Darth Vader.
